Awarded the project of Requalification of the Borralho Family Palace

Concepsys was the selected firm to develop the rehabilitation project of the Borralho Family Palace, located in Cuba, Alentejo. This project, which will be developed within the scope of an application to PRODER, presupposes the conversion of the current family building and its annexed buildings into a house-museum.

The Palacete Borralho is an exceptional building in the context of its urban fabric. Among other aspects, it stands out for its volumetry, scale, and architectural language, constituting a physical testimony of the open and progressive mind of those who had it built.

The history of José Joaquim Palma Borralho merges with that of the county of Cuba itself. An entrepreneur, who contributed a lot to the progress, livelihood, and well-being of the people of his hometown. Throughout his life, he was responsible for making Cuba one of the first towns in the Alentejo to have electric lighting. He has served as mayor and ombudsman of the local Santa Casa da Misericórdia, and is responsible for the development and support of his community in many ways and on many fronts.
