With a privileged location, over the sea and overlooking the city of São Filipe, the expansion project of the Xaguate Hotel implied the maintenance of the original aspect of the building, recognized as a landmark in the city.

The proposal developed starts from the creation of a new body in direct dialogue with the initial set, with the repetition of the rhythms of the facades, although with a distinct metric. The deep balconies serve as an extension of the rooms, allowing for constant shading of the rooms.

The spaces were reorganized, with the dining area and service area moved to the lower floor, close to the pool plateau.

The existing rooms, although small, have been remodeled, creating an overall image in the whole intervention.

This small and cozy hotel, located on one of the most interesting and unknown islands in Cape Verde, now has a total of 39 rooms.
